Modern engines in a small Grumman. How much hassle does the FAA give you? Are you sure you can get it all signed off for flight. Just wondering, I love the idea and would like to do it myself.
Stewart: We have a category of licencing much like the US Experimental Category
- so my aircraft should be able to be licenced under that. Since there is already a C172 flying in South Africa with the same engine, I expect that it can be done.
Of course when I started this project, all the rules were much simpler and easier - in the intervening years, bureaucracy has gone mad of course!
